Fueling Better: BVM Supports Local Farmers, 12 Tons of Papayas Bought and Offered to Customers Free of Charge

From the community in Koh Khel Commune, Sa Ang District, Kandal Province to the BVM Station Preaek Anhchanh, 12 tons of papayas have been transported from the Cambodian farms, comforting farmers with a lighter heart during the abundant harvest season.

BVM Petroleum has purchased papayas and offered them to all customers who came to refuel at the BVM Station Preaek Anhchanh every week from July to August 2025. This initiative is part of BVM’s effort to support Cambodian farmers during the harvest season, aiming to reduce the reliance on the imported products and promoting the local agricultural products in Cambodian market.

This initiative is also part of BVM’s corporate social responsibility which is deeply embedded in the company’s vision to creating positive and sustainable growth for community and stakeholders.

Ms. Sou Sophivann, CEO of BVM Petroleum, said, “Since the company’s establishment, we have been engaging ourselves in different community welfare activities providing in our own way of sharing, bringing positive changes in every facet of community and stakeholders involved.”

 “Through this activity, BVM can also contribute to supporting our farmers as well as showing our appreciation to our customers who always support BVM’s stations and services by offering them our local agricultural products free of charge,” Ms. Sophivann continued.

Agriculture remains a major sector and the main income for many Cambodians. Purchasing local products can directly support the livelihoods of farmers. This can also help contribute to the poverty reduction, increase household income, and stimulate economic activities in the local market.

Ms. Sophivann reaffirmed BVM’s commitment to giving back to the community, “BVM, a local petroleum company, proudly supports local agricultural products in promoting Cambodian farmers. BVM is committed to continuing its contribution and involvement in activities that can bring positive impacts to our communities.

Mr. Sok Ratanak, a customer who came to refuel and received papaya at BVM Station Preaek Anhchanh, expressed his opinion, “BVM sets a great example for other businesses because they try to help and support the local agricultural products of our Cambodian people, especially during this harvest period when the quantity of the products is high.”

He continued, “As a Cambodian citizen and a customer of BVM, I am very happy to see us, Cambodian people, helping one another during difficult times. I also joined BVM in supporting local agricultural products by refueling to receive the local and chemical-free papayas.”
